Oberstdorf - skiing in gorgeous scenery!
Germany's southern-most community is situated at an altitude of 813 m and lets winter sports fans' hearts beat faster. The 31 lifts bring guests to the runs of approx. 45 kilometres of piste. The low-traffic resort is especially attractive among families due to its pleasant climate and great leisure time activities. Winter sports fans will also get their money's worth in Oberstdorf. After fun on the piste, lodges, bars and restaurants invite visitors in to party and dine. On a clear day, guest can enjoy a gorgeous view of the approx. 400 peaks between the Zugspitze and the Swiss Säntis on a clear day. This should not be missed!
SkiTogether with the Austrian Kleinwalsertal, Oberstdorf, the southern-most district in Germany, makes up an incredible ski region with a total of 124 km of piste, which can be accessed with the lift pass "Ski² - Kleinwalsertal/Oberstdorf." The area is especially suitable for families and beginners. But also the more experiences skiers will have many possibilities to try out some more challenging well prepared pistes, which can be accessed with the 46 gondolas and lifts. At the Nebelhorn, you can ascend up to 2,224 m with the highest located gondola in the Allgäu. When the weather conditions allow it, you can enjoy a wonderful extensive view of approx. 400 peaks reaching from the Zugspitze to the Swiss Säntis. This experience can only be topped by the descent down Germany's longest valley run from the Nebelhorn to Oberstdorf. Family-friendly and ideal for practising is the Sölleck area with mostly easy to intermediate pistes. The Walmendinger Horn offers lovely and diverse runs for all different levels of skiing knowledge. A special attraction is the 2-country ski area Fellhorn/Kanzelwand: Here you have the oppotunity to ski through the German ski area Fellhorn right dowm to the Austrian Kleinwalsertal!
In all main stations of the Fellhorn and Kanzelwand lifts, as well as in all the "Das-Höchste" restaurants, you have free-of-charge access to wifi hotspots.
Nothing stands in the way of a cosy evening in Oberstdorf/Kleinwalsertal. If you are looking for some fun place to go try the "Steinbockalm" in Mittelberg (Austria), where you can really get the party started after you have finished your final descent for the day. Dance music is played for young and young at heart. You can also put on your dancing shoes at other bars and discos in Oberstdorf, of course. If you prefer it a bit quieter, let yourself be spoilt in diverse restaurants in Oberstdorf.
Cross-country ski fans will find exactly what they are looking for in Oberstdorf/Kleinwalsertal. In the perfectly prepared trail network, tracks of all levels of difficulty can be found. 76 km of tracks are prepared for classic skiing, skaters will find 55 km available. This is also one of the reasons why Obsterdorf was the host for the world cup and world championship in the past years. Additionally to the multiple tracks in the valley, you will also find wonderful trails from which you can enjoy the magnificent winter landscape. In the Kleinwalsertal, located not far away, there are further 42 km of trails, readily prepared for cross-country fun. Maybe you are interested in biathlon? Then you have the opportunity to take part in try-out session and experience a real biathlon adventure.
