The idyllic mountain resort Ramsau is at 670 m elevation in the heart of the Berchtesgaden National Park. The impressive mountain landscape of the Watzmann and Königssee at its feet attract visitors year round who are drawn to the area as if under a spell. Whether on a relaxed winter hike or a romantic horse-drawn sleigh ride, the natural surroundings are highly enjoyable. Take a stroll through the tranquil resort centre past the world-renowned Parish Church St.Sebastian (1512) and be delighted in the guest houses and inns by traditional Bavarian cuisine. In addition, activities like ice-skating on the Hintersee, tobogganing, and skiing-both alpine and cross-country are all possible here. Those looking for a day of total relaxation should head to the Watzmann Therme baths in Berchtesgaden, approx. 9 km away.

SkiThe "Region Berchtesgaden" serves up six ski areas, which are combined in the same lift pass: approx. 49 kilometres of piste between 600 m and 1,874 m, and 24 lifts can be used to your heart's desire.
The ski area Hochschwarzeck is located approx. 2 km from the resort centre of Ramsau, and thanks to its easy pistes it's especially interesting for families. Götschen and Rossfeld! The 6 km long valley run from Rossfeld to Oberau is quite leisurely and perfect for beginners (only accessible with adequate snow conditions).
The boarder scene meets at Götschen, where you will find a boarder park with a 120 m long half-pipe. This ski area enjoys an international reputation due to its world cup runs, and as a popular host for winter sports championships in the luge, bob sledding and snowboarding! The ski area Zinken allows you to ski in neighbouring Austria. The lift pass gives you access to one ski area per day.
Please note: Extensive renovation work has been taking place in the Jenner ski area since March 2017, which will continue through the 2018/19 winter season. However, a partial opening has taken place, meaning that it is possible to ski from the middle station.
After an eventful day on the pistes, you can relax in Ramsau in one of the cafés or restaurants. A special experience is the horse-drawn sleigh ride through the wintry national park in time for the game feeding (starting from national park info point Hintersee). If you're looking for action, you should try out the natural toboggan trail "Hirscheckblick" at Hochschwarzeck. On a length of 2.3 km you pass 400 m in height difference.
All in all, the Berchtesgadener Land offers just the right thing for every guest: you can spend both sociable and lively ski hut evenings and romantic nights for two. Party down in the bars, or visit one of the restaurants that’s sure to lure you in with an excellent culinary offering. Finally, activities like winter hikes, torch-lit hikes as well as guided tours through the gorgeous landscape around the Watzmann. With the lift pass Region Berchtesgaden you can also take the serpentine toboggan run at Obersalzberg which is easily reached with the gondola (depending on weather conditions). You will also receive a discount at the Watzmann-Therme thermal bath where you can relax in an area of 900 m² during various spa treatments.
From Ramsau you have access to a 12 km long trail network of all difficulties. The 4 trails with a maximum length of 5.8 km are mainly prepared for classic style skiing. At the lift station there is also a 2.5 km long track which is suitable for beginners.
A total of 100 km of trails of all levels of difficulty are awaiting you in the region of Berchtesgadener Land. The Scharitzkehl high altitude trail below the massif of the Hohen Göll is particularly impressive: on a height of 1,000 m, the trail leads over 9 km all the way to Obersalzberg mountain.
