Berlin is a city-state, the capital of Germany, the largest city in the country with approximately 3.4 million inhabitants and covering an area of approximately 892 km ².

Berlin is located in eastern Germany, about 70 km west of the border with Poland, in a marshy area of land.

Berlin is well known for the techno carnival Love Parade and Cultural Festival, Berliner Festspiele (including JazzFest Berlin).
